We are currently looking for a Pest Management Specialist to join our Cultivation team here in St. Johns! The Pest Management is responsible for implementing pest and disease control measures across all cultivation areas. This includes applying foliar sprays, beneficial insects, and other treatments as part of a proactive and compliant pest management strategy. The Pest Management Specialist collaborates closely with the cultivation team to maintain a clean and organized grow environment while adhering to company protocols, safety standards, and strict compliance with state and local cannabis regulations.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • At least 21 years of age or older.

  • Ability to pass drug testing and a Level 2 Florida State background check.

  • Previous cannabis post-harvest, drying, curing, or cultivation experience preferred.

  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to monitor environmental conditions and perform repetitive tasks accurately.

  • Ability to follow written SOPs and maintain accurate documentation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Apply approved pest control treatments, foliar sprays, beneficial insects, and other Integrated Pest Management (IPM) solutions throughout the cultivation facility.
  • Monitor cannabis plants throughout all growth stages for signs of pests, diseases, nutrient deficiencies, and environmental stress.
  • Accurately mix and measure pesticides, organic treatments, and foliar applications according to label instructions, company procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain detailed records of all treatments, including dates, product usage, application rates, locations, observations, and outcomes.
  • Operate sprayers, foggers, and other pest management equipment safely and effectively.
  • Inspect cultivation areas regularly and report pest pressures, disease outbreaks, or plant health concerns to management.
  • Ensure all applications and treatment activities comply with local, state, and company regulations.
  • Collaborate with cultivation teams to coordinate treatment schedules while minimizing plant stress and disruptions to irrigation, lighting, and production schedules.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining preventative pest management strategies.
  • Maintain inventory of pest management supplies, chemicals, beneficial insects, and application equipment.
  • Clean, sanitize, and properly store all equipment and materials after use.
  • Wear and maintain required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when handling chemicals, sprays, and other treatment materials.
  • Assist with cultivation sanitation efforts and facility cleanliness initiatives.
  • Comply with all Human Resources policies, including confidentiality and non-disclosure requirements.
  • Assist with the implementation of company policies, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and performance standards.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant work environment.
  • Maintain daily compliance with company policies, including but not limited to state and local regulations, security protocols, access control procedures, dress code requirements, and work schedules.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Payrate: $17/hour

The noise level in the work environment is typically moderate. This position requires regular use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and may involve working in cultivation rooms, greenhouses, processing areas, and other agricultural environments.

This position may involve exposure to cannabis, cannabis odors, and cannabis smoke. Cannabis remains a Schedule I controlled substance under federal law.
