Regulatory Compliance Manager
Summary
The Regulatory Compliance Manager will assist the corporation's legal department in managing and enforcing all compliance requirements and compliance management operations at the corporate level and at licensee’s dispensary, production, and cultivation facilities. The Compliance Supervisor will help upgrade, develop, and implement the licensee’s quality assurance policies and standard operating procedures. Some of the Compliance Supervisor’s time will be spent carrying out routine tasks such as updating company files, initial drafting of legal documents, reviewing documents, and legal research projects.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Understand the complexity of compliance requirements governing our businesses, including the following types of regulatory agencies: Cannabis regulatory agencies, OSHA, Fire Department(s), City/County Zoning and Planning Department(s), Business Licensing Departments, and more.
- Provide analysis and input of cannabis regulatory changes and public hearings to the Company.
- Attend regulatory inspections and audits.
- Travel to and from area facilities, reliable transportation needed.
- Assist with responses to alleged violations of rules, regulations, policies, procedures, and standards of conduct by evaluating or recommending the initiation of investigative procedures.
- Assist with creation of and updates to regulatory compliance checklists.
- Complete regulatory compliance checks in conjunction with operations and management at each facility to include the requirements of all applicable regulatory agencies.
- Collaborate with other departments to direct compliance issues to appropriate existing channels for investigation and resolution.
- Track cannabis agent cards and maintain accurate reporting to regulator.
- Advise and assist with SOP review and updates, as requested or necessary.
- Act as an independent review and evaluation body to ensure that compliance issues/concerns within the organization are being appropriately evaluated, investigated, and resolved.
- Assist with maintenance of corporate records, including resolutions, board of director changes, annual reports, etc.
- Assist with maintenance of legal records, including litigation, real property, insurance, and securities files etc.
- Manage and update executive regulatory filings.
- Manage and track state-level entity filings and renewals.
- Assist in the preparation of various transactional documents and corporate governance documents.
- Assist in the preparation of securities filings for the corporation and executives.
- Assist with projects related to corporate governance, subsidiaries, compliance, corporate finance and development, IP, and other legal matters.
- Research relevant statutes, rulings and regulations and prepare related summaries and memos to be used as a basis for answering requests for internal legal and compliance tickets and company policies.
- Liaise between the legal department and other internal departments, governmental agencies, and third-party businesses.
- Comply with all HR policies including confidentiality and non-disclosure.
- Assist with the implementation of company policies, standard operating procedures and performance standards.

Education and/or Experience
Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; or five or more years’ of regulatory compliance experience in a highly regulated industry; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should be proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and industry-specific analysis software.
