We are seeking a knowledgeable and engaging Cannabis Training Specialist to join our team and lead the development of high-quality training programs for our staff. In this role, you will ensure employees are well-educated in product knowledge, compliance requirements, customer service standards, and industry best practices. Summary
The Training and Development Specialist plays an instrumental role in identifying training needs, creating and implementing training modules, and managing training interventions from inception to completion. This role involves designing engaging curriculum and content tailored to various learning styles, delivering training through multiple platforms, and continuously improving content based on feedback and industry trends.

Education and/or Experience

Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret graphs.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should be proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and industry-specific software.

- Assist with the implementation of company policies, SOPs, and performance standards within training programs.
- Develop, update, and maintain high-quality training materials including classroom handouts, e-learning modules, instructional videos, manuals, and job aids.
- Refresh and improve existing training content to ensure accuracy, engagement, and alignment with current operations.
- Collaborate with department leaders to convert operational needs into clear, well-structured training modules.
- Maintain and continuously improve the curriculum database, ensuring version control, proper organization, and accessibility.
- Monitor incoming training needs using the Training Request Form; ensure timely follow-up and communication with management and requesting departments.
- Assist with scheduling, coordinating, and hosting internal and external training sessions, including third-party vendor training.
- Support the rollout of new training initiatives, tools, systems, and compliance requirements across departments.
- Help facilitate onsite and virtual training sessions including meetings, seminars, workshops, and team development activities.
- Conduct new-hire orientation and ensure all onboarding training is delivered consistently and professionally.
- Ensure training delivery meets departmental standards for clarity, accuracy, engagement, and alignment with company values.
- Identify departmental strengths, skill gaps, and training needs through observation, metrics, performance trends, and feedback.
- Provide recommendations and solutions to enhance efficiency, guest experience, and operational performance.
- Stay informed about industry trends, state/local laws, and emerging best practices in training and adult learning.
- Comply with all HR policies including confidentiality, non-disclosure, and ethical conduct standards.
- Maintain daily compliance with all company policies including but not limited to: state/local regulatory requirements, security and access protocols, safety procedures, dress code, and scheduled work hours.
